TOURNAMENT RULES

BASEBALLS

4 baseballs per game will be supplied by the tournament.  Teams will supply the rest.

POOL PLAY

 7 innings or 2:00 hours can end in a tie.  Mercy Rule 10 after 5 or 4.5 if home team is ahead.  Free defensive substitutions except pitcher can only return to the mound 1 time if removed.  

Force Play slide rule is in effect.

Offense can bat 9 or entire team, but if a player is removed must return to same spot in lineup.  A/B hitters are allowed.  Courtesy runners for current Pitcher and Catcher are allowed but MUST be last batted out unless they are a non-runner.  Non-runners 2 players. 

Must be designated on lineup card with the runner assigned to them that’s a legal sub (not in the offensive lineup). This can be switched if needed due to an injury.  

Bracket/Elimination

Can't end in a tie. 

7 inning or 2:00- no inning is played under regular rules if past 1:50. (Pool or bracket) If still tied goes to Bases loaded 1 out bases are occupied by the last 3 Hitters of the previous inning.

Higher seed has choice of Home the entire elimination rounds.

FOOTNOTE ON TIME

Explanation example of time. 

Team A and B are tied after 7 innings and have only played 1:30.  Regular play will continue until 1:50 and the inning is completed. The tie breaker goes into effect with bases loaded and 1 out. 

CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS

The NTX POLICE AND FIRE World Series will supply 15 custom championship rings to the tournament winner.  One presentation ring will be on hand for pictures and ring ceremony.  The NTX WS will order the custom rings once player names, numbers, and ring sizes are collected.  Rings will be created by Jostens jewelry and shipped to the teams home address.
